The new TMR-tube mapping & reporting solution for Remote Visual Inspection

Heat Exchanger Inspections

Heat exchangers are necessary for many industries, such as power generation, oil, or gas. Often they are required to keep machinery, chemicals, water, and other substances at a safe operating temperature or are used to recover waste heat.  A heat exchanger typically consists of numerous tubes (sometimes hundreds or even thousands), tightly aligned inside a cylindrical shell where substances can exchange heat.  Considering the constant heating and cooling, unsurprisingly, heat exchangers are prone to wear and tear and require regular inspections to ensure safety and optimal performance.   Corrosion, erosion, fretting, cracking, pitting, and other physical damages are typical occurrences in heat exchangers. Videoscopes help technicians to determine the conditions of heat exchangers and to establish maintenance requirements.

The new TMR-tube mapping & reporting solution

Heat exchanger inspections are critical to safety and performance but can also be lengthy and complicated. To optimize the inspection process and efficiency, Mitcorp is collaborating with a new tube mapping software. The software can create precise tube layouts, accurate labeling, and produce insightful reports with just a few clicks. It is an end-to-end solution that integrates with Mitcorp’s X2000 videoscope to simplify the inspection workflow significantly…

  • Mapping

Manual mapping allows you to create heat exchanger tube maps according to your specific needs. Benefit from multiple tube detection methods. You can import tube maps from schematics or photos. Tubes are then auto-detected and laid out on a tube map. You can build complicated tube maps, even with thousands of pipes, in a minimum amount of time.  Alternatively, you can easily create custom-made maps by using the software’s comprehensive editing tools

  • Defect Definition

No defect is universal for all industries; therefore, you can easily create custom defect tags. These can be color-coded and sorted into categories and priority levels. For a better overview, the defects also show on a defect tree.

  • Measurement

During the inspection, you can take photos and videos of your findings. You can label tubes with defects, which then show on the tube sheet, including data such as the type of defect, priority, row number, tube number, and depth. All of this data can later easily add to a comprehensive and in-depth report.

  • Visualization

The report explorer automatically creates data tables, charts, and graphs of all captured data. A simple checkbox selection is enough to include this data into your final report, making extra tabulation unnecessary.

  • Reporting

In the last step, you can select photos, tables, charts, and graphs and add them with just a few clicks. The final report is customizable, and you can add additional information according to your particular standards and needs.

Your benefits at a glance:

  • Quick mapping of tube sheets of over 10,000 tubes
  • Custom defect definition, tailored to your needs
  • High quality live feed from inspection cameras
  • Photo capturing and video recording
  • Visualization of defects and their location in pipes and tubes
